Alaska King Crab House
About This Spot
Stepping into Alaska King Crab House feels like a quiet nod to the simple joys of seafood—unpretentious, straightforward, and deeply familiar. Nestled along bustling Lancaster Avenue, the space carries a no-frills charm where the focus falls naturally on the spread before you rather than polished surroundings or trendy beats. It’s the kind of place where the pace slows down just enough for you to savor the salty, ocean-kissed scents lingering in the air.
This local seafood spot offers an inviting atmosphere that’s cozy in its own right, a blend between casual neighborhood comfort and the satisfying hum of a well-loved takeout joint. Whether you’re picking up dinner or settling in for a meal, there’s an authenticity here that invites you to reconnect with the elemental pleasures of freshly steamed crabs and shellfish, often presented in hearty, generous platters that encourage sharing and conversation.
The mood is quietly warm, marked by customers who appreciate the richness of flavors over fanciful frills. It’s the kind of place where a plate of crab legs, ripe with buttery garlic essence or steamed alongside plump shrimp and mussels, can feel both like a familiar friend and a small celebration. Alongside the prized shellfish, touches of comfort—like buttery flounder fingers or creamy macaroni and cheese—round out the experience, making each visit grounded in approachable, satisfying fare.
The charm lies not only in what’s on the plate but also in the subtle rituals that come with it: the communal cracking of shells, the mingling aromas of garlic and butter, and the quiet contentment when the flavors land just right. Alaska King Crab House embraces a humble focus on freshness and flavor, a bit like a hidden corner where true seafood lovers find solace in every bite.

Had the pleasure of getting dinner from Alaska King. Please note, the crabs are cooked but are cold at time of purchase. We steamed them and I have no complaints. Well seasoned and there maybe 2-3 bad ones in the bunch. I also think they gave me small instead of medium I enjoy the imitation crab sticks and scallops - if that’s not your thing I understand. I enjoyed it. Someone else had the mussels but I was told they were really good. I’ll try next time. Great job Alaska! I was not excited about the cold crabs but every shop does it differently.
